Mystery Vegetable of the Week

What is this vegetable? And how can it be cooked? We went to the market in Negrepelisse this morning and thought it would be adventurous of us to try this vegetable. Now that we brought it home we don't know how to cook the damn thing. A turnip? rutabega? radish? 

Me. Meandering.

Meander; to follow a winding course, to wander, snake, stroll, ramble, wind, and zigzag. This sums up my life quite nicely. From nanny/deckhand to LLb/BSc graduate. Public policy intern to dog walker. Armed with only un peu de francais, I have now found myself (along with mon copain, Ian) in the south-west of France. For the next year we will be looking after a guest house with trois chevaux, trois chats, des poulets and a whole lot of pigeons.
