Mystery Vegetable of the Week

What is this vegetable? And how can it be cooked? We went to the market in Negrepelisse this morning and thought it would be adventurous of us to try this vegetable. Now that we brought it home we don't know how to cook the damn thing. A turnip? rutabega? radish?

    Could it be cerfeuil tubéreux? They are supposed to be delicious!

    It was a black radish. Ian and I made a radish and beet slaw out of them, it was yum.
