le street art de Paris

On a recent trip to Paris we embarked on an urban treasure hunt. We were hunting for art, not the type of art that one would find in the Louvre, but a form of visual art that is exhibited on the streets. Some might call it vandalism. Others refer to is as graffiti or 'graff'. It is not to be confused with the indiscriminate tagging undertaken by hooded hooligans in night who tag the streets with their anonymous symbols.

Some of it is illegal, some is commissioned. Many are temporary, some permanent or evolutionary. They can be so huge that they cover whole facades of buildings, or so small that if you blink you'll miss it. This is some of the street art of Paris.
